Difficult situations, innovative solutions: Malaga hosts the VI Conference on Modernization
Addressing the future challenges faced by the government in implementing innovative solutions is the proposal for starting of the VI Conference on Modernization and Quality for today and tomorrow are held Malaga, under the auspices of the City Council and FEMP.
The times of economic crisis, policy changes aimed at simplifying and ways of delivering services or new demands on the participation of citizens, both in governance and in the sustainability of their local environments, are best suited to reflect and analyzing and sharing solutions adapted to the variety of municipalities and local governments in our country, as well as participants found the opening ceremony of the Sixth Conference on Modernization and Quality, held this morning, among whom were the mayor of the capital Malaga, Francisco de la Torre, and Secretary General of the FEMP, Isaura Leal, among others.
According to the latter, at present, "the councils are setting an example of accountability and efficiency in service delivery," according stressed, "we still have time to innovate and do it with enough intelligence to turn this difficult situation an opportunity to modernize and streamline our government and make them more efficient to serve the public. " This is a particularly opportune moment to launch modernization since, in addition, issues such as the "modernization of local public service" is the second of the strategic priorities identified in a recent survey from the XXI Century Strategic Plan FEMP .
For its part, the Mayor of Málaga, Francisco de la Torre, recalled the work done over the years in quality and stated that the objective of this conference is to discuss how we can from local councils to be more effective, closer, more participatory and more proactive to respond to the hopes and expectations of citizens, knowing our limitations and how far we can go.
The Modernization and Quality Conferences are held every two years in Malaga, organized by the FEMP and the city host, this time have had the support of the Spanish Association for Quality, and Quality Assessment Agency and several corporate sponsors. The theme for this sixth edition has been "difficult situation, Innovative Solutions," and the objective pursued is to help governments are able to successfully face the challenges of present and future by redefining the quality framework, the application of new technologies and modernization.
In total, the congress has more than 300 participants from the three administrations of the state, as well as managers, technicians, politicians and employees of the administration tasks related to modernization, quality and management improvement.
