Section of Local Entities with Mineral and Thermal Waters
The Section of Local Entities with Mineral and Thermal Waters arose from the preoccupation about promoting the role of municipalities in the integrated planning and exploitation of hydromineral resources and availing of a stable platform for cooperation that would facilitate the coordination of initiatives of common interest for implementation.
Since it was formed in December 2001, the Section of Local Entities with Mineral and Thermal Waters has centred its objectives around:
• Defence of the interests of Local Entities with mineral waters
• Promotion of the integrated exploitation of mineral waters to enhance the attraction and competitivity of municipalities with mineral waters.
• Impulse to the active role of local entities in the planning and development of mineral water resources
• Exchange of information and experiences.
• Collaboration with authorities, associations and institutions on the inter-regional, national and international levels.
• National and international tourism promotion of local corporations and municipalities comprising the brand “Villas Termales FEMP”
The Section is presided by the Mayor of Alhama de Granada, Mr. Francisco Escobedo Valenzuela.
At present, 99 Local Entities are affiliated, representing 7,384,371 inhabitants.
