The FEMP calls for greater local presence in the design of active employment policies


The President of the FEMP, Pedro Castro, gave the Minister of Labour and Immigration, Valeriano Gómez, the collaboration of local governments to develop active employment policies and has asked during the meeting to be held both in the Ministry's headquarters, that the Government favors a greater role for councils when planning and implementing these policies.



The meeting, held on the afternoon of Thursday, Pedro Valeriano Gómez Castro moved to the need for all stakeholders, governments, employers, unions and other social and economic, to sit at the same table and putting together proposals serve to shape policies towards economic recovery and job creation in each territory

Getafe Mayor emphasized that active employment policies should cover training plans tailored to the needs and demands and business professionals of these Territories, and that this is essential to competition and the contributions of the municipalities.
 
The Minister of Labour and Immigration was accompanied by Secretary of State for Employment, Luz Maria Rodriguez, who informed the President of the FEMP of the Government's intention to amend the scheme of active employment policy, a reform which, as explained, will be left to the Autonomous Communities and Local Government policies and would lead to greater "freedom and flexibility to both administrations to enable them to define and design. "Active employment policies will be agreed upon by the municipalities and autonomous regions," they said.
