Pedro Castro reaffirms the commitment of the municipalities with FEESL 2010


The President of the FEMP, Pedro Castro, has welcomed the response they have given the Spanish city councils to the new State Fund for Employment and Local Sustainability (FEESL) and encouraged them to execute him "visionary" to contribute to economic recovery and lay the foundation for new economic model.


In this context, considers that initiatives will be launched in the Spanish municipalities are a clear demonstration that the municipalities are committed and are committed to sustainability, innovation and social policies as tools to overcome the crisis and as axes the new economic model.
 
The President of the FEMP also highlighted the great work they can perform the municipalities with the implementation of active employment policies and employee training, development of the aims pursued by the Fund because, by its proximity , "have a real understanding of the socio-tissue situation of their territories" and in collaboration with social partners, employers and unions, may initiate proceedings "imaginative" in training so that workers may retrain and adapt to the demands raised in new productive sectors in their own environment and to support young people seeking their first job.

Pedro Castro has stressed the number of projects submitted to the Fund, more than 30,000, which shows that the municipalities are "the same trail of efficiency, solvency and responsibility" and showed in the previous application of local investment fund 2009. It has shown its appreciation for the Councils response has been massive (total 8105 have submitted requests) and therefore the benefits of investments will reach the entire population.
