Final sprint to the municipalities that aim to sign City of Science and Innovation


The October 31 is the deadline for nominations for obtaining the sign "City of Science and Innovation." With this flag, the Ministry of Science and Innovation will recognize and prestige to those municipalities that, regardless of size, are making a significant effort in the field of innovation, helping from the local to the change in the production model.




It contained three categories so you can recognize the innovative effort regardless of size and will be awarded to 10 municipalities by category:
 
- Municipalities up to 20,000 inhabitants
- Local from 20,001 to 100,000 inhabitants
- Municipalities with more than 100,000 inhabitants
                                           
Innovation projects that are considered for this award are from the business parks, science parks and technological knowledge centers and business incubators, those aimed at improving the green economy, promote innovation in health economics and health care , modernization of municipal administration, the centers of culture and popular science-technology, etc ...
 
Specifically, the call for 2010, the Ministry of Science and Innovation given the distinction "City of Science and Innovation", to those municipalities that have demonstrated a greater commitment to innovative projects from the State Fund for Employment and Sustainability Local. In this sense, the investments made by municipalities in terms of innovation with this fund managed by the Ministry of Land Policy, reached € 916M distributed over a total of 7,650 projects (30.1% of total projects) .
 
Network of Cities of Science and Innovation Network (INNPULSO)
                                           
Those councils that achieve this distinctive form part of the Network of Cities of Science and Innovation Network (INNPULSO), as agreed last October 8 in the Council of Ministers ", which will enhance the relationship between local and collaborative projects.
 
Join this network will involve a number of benefits under the policies of R & D and local development
 
a) Authorization for use of the distinction in the communication and promotion of the city, both nationally and internationally.
 
b) Promotion and support of collaborative projects between the municipalities that are integrated into the Network of Cities of Science and Innovation.
 
c) Integration of the Internet as a reference entity within the Working Group on Tourism MITYC MICINN-scientific.
 
d) International Cities Promotion of Science and Innovation in international events related to R & D and development based on knowledge.
 
e) Consideration of these cities preferred location for science and technology facilities owned or state participation as well as to locate network nodes MICINN Information Points I + D + i, (PIDI network).
 
f) Prioritization of these sites as preferred to organize department meetings with the regional governments and other actors in the R & D, as well as holding conferences and seminars of Public Research.
