Manuel Chaves opened the 10th General Assembly of the FEMP

The Deputy Prime Minister of Territorial Policy, Manuel Chaves, will address the opening session of the 10th General Assembly of the FEMP to be held this Saturday, which will elect the new president and renew the positions of the federation.

The facilities at the IFEMA in Madrid will host nearly one thousand participants, including delegates and observers, who are expected to attend the Assembly, representing the 7331 Local Government attached, final census approved by the FEMP.

The two major parties, PP and PSOE have reached an agreement to submit a joint bid to the governing bodies of the FEMP, announced today by municipal policy makers from both parties, Juan Manuel Moreno Bonilla (PP) and Antonio Hernando Vara (PSOE).

Both parties submitted joint bids to the Executive Committee, which will now be known as Governing Board, the Regional Council, renamed the former Federal Council, and the various Sectoral Working Committees. They have also agreed on the composition of the Bureau of the 10 th Assembly.

This agreement has been joined, in principle, other groups like CiU, PAR and UPN and is open to other parties with representation in local bodies.
