Juan Ignacio Zoido, new President of the FEMP

In his first speech to the Mayors and Presidents of Councils, Town Councils and Island Councils, José Ignacio Zoido has reaffirmed the need to make the FEMP a useful tool for municipalities and has added that "this FEMP is not serving any interest other than the residents of our towns and cities. "
Zoido also referred to the economic difficulties Spanish Local Governments and added that "not only serious structural problems have not been resolved, but have worsened even more." After summarizing the economic figures of the Local Administration, stressed that it is time to undertake a profound reform of the Administration and the Local Finance Law.

Angel Fernandez, the new Secretary General of the FEMP
After the Assembly adjourned, Juan Ignacio Zoido convened a meeting of the newly elected Governing Board. In this session, the first of its mandate, the Board appointed the new Secretary-General Angel Fernandez of the FEMP.
