The Councils will manage the grant scheme for municipalities affected by natural disasters


The County Councils, Town Councils and Island Councils coordinate and manage, together with the Ministry of Territorial Planning, the plan of aid to the municipalities affected by natural disasters approved by the Government last March 19 and is worth 131.5 million euros.


The fund will be supplemented by a similar amount to bring their own municipalities, provincial and insular entities, the autonomous communities and other public and private.

This agreement has been reached in a meeting at the headquarters of the Ministry of Territorial Policy, chaired by the Third Vice-President of the Government, Manuel Chaves, which has been present a delegation from the FEMP, led by its President, Pedro Castro, consisting of the Presidents of the Dipuraciones Barcelona, Toledo, Orense, Salamanca, Cordoba, Albacete, Badajoz, Caceres, Guadalajara, Jaén, Málaga, Teruel and Zamora. At this meeting the delegates also participated in the Government of the Autonomous Communities.

Third Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Territorial Policy, Manuel Chaves, the Order explained aid to repair infrastructure and equipment of the municipalities, the Provincial Councils, the Councils or the Commonwealth that are damaged by the recent storm. This measure will be EUR 131.5 million will finance 50% of maintenance projects to be submitted by the affected local entities, more than 2,500 located in 14 autonomous regions of Ceuta.
