Territorial Policy in 2470 wins 50 million with less than 20,000 inhabitants


The Ministry of Planning Policy has announced the 2470 award to municipalities of 50 million euros for the Special Fund for funding to municipalities with a population not exceeding 20,000, included in the General State Budget for 2010. The Department anticipates this year the issuance of this fund to help local councils cope with the current economic situation and make them more liquidity.


With this background, the Government compensates the income of municipalities with smaller populations and an average tax rate, according to the latest final settlement practiced more than 1, so they can achieve a share of state taxes of EUR 140.41 per capita. The purpose of the fund is to strengthen the financial capacity of smaller municipalities without conditionality to any specific purpose.
 
Pursuant to the resolution of the General Directorate for Local Cooperation, the number of townships rises to 2470. The full list is available on the website of the Ministry of Planning Policy (www.mpt.es).
 
The amount allocated to each municipality corresponds to the compensation needed to reach the average of 140.41 euros per capita share of state taxes in respect of supplies on account.
 
Of the 2470 municipalities that will receive part of the fund:
 
- 60 receive grants in excess of 100,000 euros.
1048, between 10,000 and 100,000 euros.
- 987, 1,000 and 10,000 euros.
- 375 municipalities have less than a $ 1,000 contribution
