The Area of New Technologies and the Information Society has the principal aim of promoting the use of the New Information and Communication Technologies in Local Administration.

The labour done in the framework of this Area is oriented toward promoting the implantation of Electronic Public Services and other computer applications in Local Administration, taking the special problems of small municipalities into account.

The point is to take advantage of new technologies to reinforce the exchange of information between different administrations and facilitate relations between the population and the Administration.
